In Matthew 28:1-3 the Bible states; “Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.” What a powerful demonstration from heaven. Resurrection power displayed in victory. Nothing could stand in its way, even as the guards who stood to secure the tomb shook in fear, and fell on their faces like dead men. Heaven is greater than hell, God is greater than Satan, righteousness overthrows unrighteousness, and resurrection power destroys hell, death, and the grave. Jesus faced the cross so He could break forth from the tomb. “Oh death where is your victory, and grave where is your sting.”
We stand in this season as believers who can celebrate the most awesome event that can change lives forever. A blood-stained cross that proves that someone died and an empty grave that proves someone rose. Both of these shout the greatest message out of all eternity. “He is not here; for He has risen just like he said.” (Mat.28:6). In 1st Corinthians chapter 15, Paul writes to the church about the gospel that he preached to them. In vs 3, he states; “for I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
Easter heralds the beginning of and the arrival of the kingdom of God into men’s lives. Resurrection power shouts that the grave has been defeated and we can now rest in the hope of eternal life.
Together they declare that death has been defeated, and the grave has been overthrown. You and I now stand in the greatest peace that one could ever know. Our sins have been forgiven and now the kingdom and the presence of God can dwell richly in our lives.
Today across this world millions if not billions have heard the greatest message. A message of forgiveness, hope, eternal life, and of resurrection power. Jesus told his disciples in Matthew 28:18-20; “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.” From the cross to the grave, and from the grave to the right hand of power. Jesus now sits triumphantly over all. We have been commissioned now to walk knowing that all of heaven is now on our side, and all authority is working on our behalf. He continued; “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to observe all things I have commanded, and surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Two thousand years ago, Jesus sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on High. He has triumphed over all principalities and powers, all sickness and disease, all sin, addiction, and all the oppressions of the enemy. In total, he has triumphed over sin, sickness, and death. Let’s step into this season with the shout of victory that has been won for us. Let’s step into this season with the boldness of knowing who He is and who we are in Him. Let’s step into this season with the greatest joy because we know that WE POSSESS THE GREATEST MESSAGE!!!
Blessings,
